Student Leadership

At Dandenong West, we believe it is important to give students opportunities to develop leadership skills and student voice.

​

School leadership roles in Year 6 include School Captains, House Captains, SRC Leaders, Environmental Leaders, Wellbeing Leaders, Technology Leaders and Art Leaders.

​

Year 5 students are given opportunities to develop a portfolio and encouraged to apply for one of these positions towards the end of the year. They go through an interview process with staff members and current leaders to choose new leaders.

​

Student voice and leadership is also encouraged in every classroom with an SRC representative nominated by their classmates through a democratic vote.
